Slate student recruitment, application, and admissions implementation and integration
Slate: Admissions & Enrollment Tool
Indiana University is transitioning recruitment and admissions processes – including application processing and decisioning, events management, communications and recruitment – to Slate by Technolutions. Slate is one of the most widely used recruitment and admissions software solutions across higher education. Slate is specifically designed to optimize communications, streamline application processing and simplify decision release in the admissions process. Slate is adaptable to IU’s unique processes, ensuring a personalized approach that allows for common data files and structure and autonomy relevant to our multiple admission processes and relevant units.
The first live instance of Slate was launched in summer 2024 and included undergraduate domestic and international admissions at IU Indianapolis, undergraduate domestic admissions at IU Bloomington and the IU School of Nursing which includes IU Bloomington, IU Fort Wayne and IU Indianapolis. Additional campuses and populations will roll onto the platform over the next two years with all campuses planning to be live and processing in Slate by fall 2026 for the fall 2027 recruitment cycle.
Slate helps IU applicants through the admissions process by providing them with an interactive applicant status portal to make sure all steps are completed for a successful enrollment.
Campuses will have autonomy over their internal processes while using standardized file formats and configuration.
Students will initially use a self-created password and username but can then transition to SSO once they have created their credentials through UITS.
Slate will replace OnBase (for application processing) and Salesforce for communications for incoming students. Peoplesoft will still be the system of record for admissions information. On Base will still be the system of record for document retention (transcripts and other admissions related documents).Salesforce will still be used for communications to students once they matriculate.
Each campus will determine their security parameters and system access plans.
